I can remember only one other time in nearly 30 years of marriage when I cooked something so terrible that I wouldn’t let my family eat it. It happened again last night. We all love American Chinese food. It would be so nice to have it at home now and then. I decided to try to [...] The sky is as blue today as I’ve seen it in a long time. Granted I have been holed up inside shivering and grumbling about winter. I opened the curtains to my office window. From the low vantage point at my desk, I wouldn’t know it wasn’t spring…except for the fact that the trees are [...] I’m usually cold in the winter. I am always bundled up with a good pair of hand knitted socks, a nice sweater and a rice bag. Oh yeah, don’t forget Mason, the ever faithful source of heat/Boston Terrier. But I must admit that it took a little convincing to get me to knit woolie pulleys. [...] What a great expression. “Butter me up”. Generally “to butter someone up” means to flatter them in an attempt to win favor, or to give them extra attention. This hints to the deliciousness of butter and how much people love it, if they consider being slathered in it as something desirable! I prefer my butter on [...] I love to play pretend with my granddaughter. She is 4. We play all sorts of things, like camping, complete with pretend fire and marshmallows and tents and sleeping bags. Or super hero. We pretend to fly around and get the bad guys. (GiGi doesn’t fly as fast as she used to!) Last night we [...] I don’t get it. My guys love meatloaf. I never have liked it, but I make it for them under 1 condition. I get the ends. This recipe couldn’t be more simple. I’ve been making it since the 4th grade. That’s when I won my first award. It was an Outstanding Achievement for the science fair [...] I love it when the linen closet is full of clean towels that are all folded the same and are in the pile the same way. It gives me a small sense of satisfaction. I also like when the bed is made and the counters are cleaned and clear of clutter and the dining room [...] I’m a housewife. I love it. My husband loves it. I am very lucky. Not many families can have one of the spouses stay home. It works for us. My husband hates yard work. I love it. So today includes poop scooping, mowing and minor flower bed cleanup. I also have to get out the ladder [...] Okay, I gave in. I could tell that it just wasn’t worth stressing out the hubby. He’s amazed that I got it all cleaned up again in one day. It wasn’t that bad. I have pulled stunts like this in the past. They never work. I should know better. At least I got a lot of [...] “Happily Oblivious” is going along well. At least I’m having a good time. I spent the day carding and spinning and watching the game. They lost so I took a nap.
